CAA UK CAP 437 FROM APRIL/AUGUST 2010

The recent CAP437 from April 2010, Chapter 6, pt 4.2 now recommends HLL Code B (Rigs) C (Large Vessels) to provide the following additional meteorological information; d) Cloud amount and height of base. e)Visibility; and f) Present Weather. Note!
The Helideck Certification Agency (HCA) determines in each case if this (d,e,f) equipment is required or if it is possible to obtain this information from other installations within 10 miles. And further it is now required to have a dual or redundant Air Pressure Barometer(s) with deviation comparison <0,5 hPa in the HMS SW. The Sea State and Sea Surface temperature is now deleted from CAP437 Chapter 6 pt. 4.2 and is only recommended to be reported if this information is available.
 

DATA VERIFICATION REPORT (DVR)

The Helideck Certification Agency (HCA) and the helicopter operators both require a valid DVR of the HMS. All displayed values have to be compared against reference sources and verified to be within the specification. This verification report is done by, or in cooperation with ShoreConnection International, who issues the report and submits this to HCA or the local helideck certification authority.
